Opening Times

The Mill is open on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays and we are normally milling between about 11:00am and 3:00pm. We look forward to welcoming you and telling you about the working of the mill and the history of milling on the site.

Plan of the site

The Mill is on the Acorn Bank estate and is situated 350m from the reception hut near the house along a level, compacted gravel footpath. The path through the woods can be steep in places and there are some steps and wheelchair users are advised not to use it.

The lower mill rooms are accessed down 12 steep, narrow steps and along a narrow corridor. The lower mill room has a large step down and the mill wheel is accessed through a wide room with flagstone floor, across a wooden platform and down 3 more steps. The courtyard is cobbled and irregular.
